What’s inside:
New Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains are coming to Chhattisgarh, improving travel options for passengers.
Chhattisgarh is set to welcome two new Vande Bharat trains and two Amrit Bharat trains. This announcement includes trains running from Durg to Varanasi, Durg to Jabalpur, and Durg to Lokmanya Tilak in Mumbai, as well as to Kamakhya.
The officials from the Bilaspur zone have already sent a proposal to the railway board. Once they get approval, the new trains will start running. This is a positive move, especially since there has been a waiting list for long-distance trains for over a month.
Currently, around 70,000 passengers travel daily from Raipur. With the new trains, more people will be able to secure confirmed tickets, especially during the busy festive season when the rush increases.
From September 23 to October 22, special trains will also run between Durg-Hawrah and Durg-Guwahati. This will help manage the crowd during the festive period. Raipur station sees about 120 trains daily, and Durg has about 15.
Right now, there are only two trains from Raipur to Varanasi, which often have long waiting lists. The new services will cut travel time significantly for routes like Raipur-Kamakhya and Raipur-Lokmanya Tilak, making journeys more convenient.
