What’s inside:

This article provides updates on the travel situation for the Chhath festival in Jamshedpur, highlighting train availability and new waiting ticket rules.

Chhath festival is just around the corner, and it’s causing a huge rush for train tickets from Jamshedpur to Bihar. Many people from Jamshedpur travel back to their hometowns in Bihar to celebrate this important festival.

This year, only one special train, the Tata-Buxar special, is running from October 17 to 31, but it will only make three trips. Other regular trains like the South Bihar Express and Vande Bharat Express are already fully booked, and waiting lists are long.

In fact, the railway has changed its waiting ticket rules recently. Earlier, 60% of total seats could be booked as waiting tickets, but now it’s only 25%. This change means passengers with waiting tickets can’t travel, making it even harder for those wanting to go to Bihar for Chhath.

All major trains are fully booked, including the South Bihar Express and the Tata-Buxar special train. Even Vande Bharat Express has limited availability, but the fares are quite high, making it tough for many travelers.

Passengers are advised to check the train status and seat availability on the IRCTC app or railway portal before traveling. If tickets are sold out, they should consider alternative trains or change their travel dates to avoid the rush.

Summary:

  • Chhath festival leads to a great demand for train tickets.

  • Only one special train is running with limited trips.

  • New rules restrict waiting tickets to just 25% of total seats.

  • Most trains are fully booked, and fares are high.

  • Travelers should check availability before planning their journey.
