What’s inside:

The Indian Railways has launched a Round Trip Scheme offering a 20% discount on return tickets for the festival season.

The Indian Railways has introduced a new Round Trip Scheme for travelers heading home during the festival season. This offer allows passengers to get a 20% discount on their return tickets. The scheme is set to help those traveling for major festivals.

This discount is valid for tickets booked for journeys between October 13 and October 26. However, it only applies when passengers book both their onward and return tickets together. It’s important to note that some express trains, including the Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express, are not included in this offer.

The Round Trip Scheme aims to accommodate the heavy rush of passengers during festivals like Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath. Passengers can enjoy this benefit on most express and festival special trains, but only for confirmed tickets; waiting tickets will not qualify for the discount.

To avail of this offer, ticket bookings can only be made through the IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app. Travelers need to select the ‘Festival Round Trip’ option in the app to book their tickets accordingly.

When booking, passengers must enter details for both trips, and changes cannot be made once the ticket is booked. Since the Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express are excluded, travelers must pay the full fare for these trains.

Summary:

  • The Round Trip Scheme offers 20% off return tickets.

  • This discount is valid from October 13 to October 26.

  • Only confirmed tickets can avail of this discount.

  • Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express are not included.

  • Bookings can only be made via the IRCTC Rail Connect app.
