A coal-laden train derailed near Mathura, disrupting train services and causing delays for several trains.



Recently, a freight train carrying coal derailed near Azai, close to Mathura. This incident caused a major disruption in train services between Delhi and Mathura, leaving many passengers stranded.

After about two hours, some relief came when operations on a fourth line resumed. Meanwhile, several trains such as the Mewar Express and Gita Jayanti Express were stopped on their way, while others were redirected through different routes.


Passengers faced difficulties as many trains were affected. For instance, the Agra Cantt-Hoshiarpur Express and several others were halted at different stations, causing long delays and confusion among travelers.

Notably, two Vande Bharat trains, along with a dozen others, were held up for hours due to this derailment. The authorities quickly responded, with senior railway officials arriving at the scene to manage the situation.


As cleanup efforts continued late into the night, the railway officials also released helpline numbers for passengers at various stations like Mathura and Agra Cantt to assist with inquiries and provide updates.
