This article talks about the launch of the Vande Bharat sleeper trains and their expected features and specifications.
The Indian Railways is all set to launch the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, which is exciting news for travelers. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that both trains will be launched together once the second train is fully ready to ensure smooth service.
The sleeper trains will be designed by a joint venture called Kinet Railway Solutions, formed between Indian and Russian companies. The first AC coach design will be showcased next week at the International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025 in Delhi.
These sleeper trains will be ideal for long and medium-distance travel, offering a comfortable and premium travel experience. Currently, Vande Bharat services only include chair cars, so this new version will be a big upgrade for night travelers.
Three companies have been awarded contracts to manufacture these sleeper trains. They include BEML, Kinet Railway Solutions, and a consortium of Titagarh Rail Systems and BHEL, all working on energy-efficient and modern coaches.
The second train is expected to be ready by October 15, 2025. Once both trains are ready, they will be launched simultaneously, making rail travel in India more advanced and passenger-friendly.
