The Sleeper Vande Bharat train service is set to commence in the second week of December, operating twice a week from Rani Kamalapati station (RKMP) to Patliputra, which is located near Patna. The Bhopal Railway Board is expected to receive a rake consisting of approximately 20 coaches by the end of November to facilitate this new service. Notably, instead of a direct route from Bhopal to Bengaluru via Pune, the train will take a detour through Delhi, creating a new travel pattern that will include halts at RKMP.
Lucknow Service Update
In addition to the Patliputra service, a sitting Vande Bharat train featuring 8 coaches is planned to run from Bhopal to Lucknow. However, there are currently no plans to introduce a Sleeper Vande Bharat service for Lucknow. Officials have indicated that the rake designated for the Lucknow service is expected to be delivered by the end of October or early November, with a week-long trial period before its official launch.
Travel Duration and Schedule
The distance from RKMP to Patliputra is approximately 1005.3 kilometers. Typically, other trains take around 19 hours to cover this route. The Sleeper Vande Bharat train is anticipated to depart from RKMP between 4 to 5 PM, aiming to arrive at Patliputra the following day around 11 AM, thereby reducing the travel time to approximately 17 hours.
