8 New Daily MEMU Trains: Varanasi City to Raja Talab

Commuters in the Varanasi region are set for a significant boost in local travel options. The Railway Board has officially granted approval for the introduction of eight new daily Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) services connecting Varanasi City and Raja Talab.

New Train Numbers and Route Details

The approved expansion consists of four pairs of trains, which will operate under the service numbers 65135 to 65142. These daily services are designed to provide frequent and reliable transit for passengers traveling between these two key locations.

To ensure maximum accessibility for local residents, the new MEMU services will make scheduled stops at the following stations:

  • Varanasi City
  • Varanasi Junction
  • Banaras
  • Bhulanpur Halt
  • Hardattpur
  • Raja Talab

Strengthening Regional Connectivity

This initiative is a strategic move to bolster connectivity within the Varanasi area. By increasing the frequency of MEMU services, the Railways aims to facilitate smoother movement for students, workers, and traders, thereby enhancing opportunities for education and employment.

This development follows a series of regional rail network upgrades throughout 2026, which have included the inauguration of various AC Express and MEMU trains. The new services will complement existing transit links, such as the BSBS-PRRB MEMU (65113), which currently serves as a vital 13-kilometer connection in the region.
