Varanasi-Sabarmati Daily Express: New Train Approved!

The Indian Railway Board has officially given the green light for a new daily express service that will connect the spiritual hub of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh directly to Sabarmati in Gujarat. This new daily route is set to significantly enhance rail connectivity across the states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

New Daily Schedule and Train Details

The approved service will operate with two distinct train numbers to facilitate daily travel in both directions. According to the official order, the operational timings are as follows:

A total of three rakes have been allocated to maintain the daily frequency on this route. While primary maintenance for the trains will be conducted in Varanasi, essential water-refilling facilities for the coaches have been designated at Govindpuri, Tundla, Jaipur, and Ajmer stations.

Planned Stoppages and Route Connectivity

The new express service is designed to serve several major urban and regional centers, providing much-needed connectivity to various parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The approved commercial stoppages include:

  • Major Urban Centers: Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Agra Junction.
  • Regional and Intermediate Stops: Mirzapur, Subedarganj, Govindpuri, Tundla Junction, Idgah, Nadbai, Kherli, Mandawar Mahwa Road, Bandikui, Gandhinagar Jaipur, Kishangarh, Beawar, Marwar, Falna, Abu Road, Palanpur, and Mehsana.

When Will the Service Start?

Following the official order issued on October 21, 2026, the concerned railway zones have been instructed to finalize all necessary operational arrangements to launch the service at the earliest. However, authorities have not yet announced the official launch date, detailed intermediate timetables, fare structures, or booking schedules.
