To facilitate the massive influx of pilgrims during the Sharadiya Navratri fair, the North Central Railway administration implemented a temporary two-minute stoppage for several major trains at Vindhyachal station. This special initiative was designed to provide devotees with direct rail access to the holy Maa Vindhyavasini temple, eliminating the need for travelers to disembark at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction or Mirzapur and continue their journey by road.
Operational Changes and Cancellations
While the facility commenced on October 11 and was originally scheduled to remain in effect until October 26, 2026, recent operational requirements have led to changes in the schedule. As of October 22, railway authorities announced that the temporary stoppages for select trains have been cancelled for the period between October 23 and October 26, 2026.

The temporary halt scheme initially covered between 10 and 22 pairs of major trains serving the Bhagalpur route and other regions. Among the key trains that were granted these temporary stops were:
