The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) has released the notification for 5,349 slots across various workshops and divisions. Candidates who have completed their schooling and technical training can start applying online from this Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria and Education Requirements
To apply for these positions, a candidate must have passed the Matriculation (Class 10th) exam with at least 50% aggregate marks. Additionally, a valid ITI certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT is required. The age of the applicant should be between 15 and 24 years as of March 23, 2026. There is age relaxation provided for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates as per standard government rules.
Selection Process and Future Benefits
The selection will not involve any written examination or interview. Instead, RRC Western Railway will prepare a final merit list based on the average percentage of marks obtained in both Class 10th and ITI. Completing this apprenticeship is highly beneficial as candidates get a 20% reservation in future Level 1 (Group D) recruitments and are exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test.
