Western Railway Hits 130 Kmph on Tihi-Dhar Route!
Western Railway begins 130 kmph speed trials on the new Tihi-Dhar section. Public safety warnings issued for the Indore-Dahod rail project.

Western Railway has achieved a major milestone in its infrastructure development by successfully conducting high-speed trials on the newly constructed Tihi-Dhar broad gauge section. For the first time, trains on this route reached a blistering speed of 130 kmph, marking a significant advancement for the ongoing Indore-Dahod rail line project.
Public Safety Alert Issued
Due to the high-velocity nature of these tests, railway authorities have issued a critical safety alert for the local population. Because the new broad gauge line traverses a tribal-dominated region, strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Ratlam Division of Western Railway has requested that the public observe the following precautions:
- Trial Period: The safety alert is effective from Wednesday, October 30, 2026, through November 6, 2026.
- Restricted Hours: Residents must stay away from the railway tracks daily between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
Mukesh Kumar, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ratlam Division, confirmed that these measures are essential given the significant speed at which the trains are currently operating during the testing phase.
Infrastructure Ready for Final Inspection
The Tihi-Dhar section has reached a state of readiness, with all necessary civil engineering, electrification, and signaling works now fully completed. This high-speed testing is a vital step in ensuring the line's integrity before it is opened for regular traffic.
Following the successful conclusion of these speed trials, the next major step involves a formal safety assessment. The Commissioner of Railway Safety (Western Circle, Mumbai) is scheduled to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the new line to certify it for safe operations.
