Winter Fog Alert: Major Train Cancellations from Dec 1

Indian Railways is gearing up for the annual winter fog season, which is set to bring significant disruptions to passenger travel. Starting from December 1, several train services will be cancelled or have their frequency reduced to manage the challenges posed by low visibility.

Why are trains being cancelled?

The decision comes as part of the annual winter fog mitigation plan. By cancelling certain passenger services, the Railway Board aims to reallocate essential resources, such as engines and crew, to prioritize freight operations. This ensures that the movement of goods remains steady even when heavy fog slows down regular passenger traffic across various divisions.
