Solar Lighting Upgrade at Zamania and Dildarnagar Stations
New 80-watt solar lights with automatic sensors are being installed at Zamania and Dildarnagar stations to boost passenger safety.

The railway administration has launched a major infrastructure upgrade at Zamania and Dildarnagar railway stations to resolve long-standing concerns regarding station illumination and passenger safety. As of October 31, 2026, the Engineering Department in Patna is overseeing the installation of 40 solar-powered lights across the station facilities.
Advanced Solar-Powered Lighting System
Each of the new lighting units has an 80-watt capacity, ensuring robust illumination for the station premises. To provide consistent and reliable light throughout the night, these units are equipped with advanced automatic sensor technology. This allows the lights to automatically switch on at dusk and deactivate at dawn, ensuring efficient energy usage.
Enhanced Safety for Passengers
The primary goal of this initiative is to improve visibility for passengers navigating the stations during late hours. The new lighting system is specifically aimed at addressing safety concerns in critical areas, such as:
- Station platforms
- Foot-over-bridge (FOB) areas
- Zones where passengers must change platforms
Future Plans: Real-Time Information Boards
Beyond the lighting improvements, railway authorities have confirmed plans to install platform indication boards at the stations. These upcoming installations are intended to provide passengers with real-time updates regarding train arrivals and departures, further enhancing operational transparency and overall station convenience.
