The Indian Railway Board has officially greenlit the permanent regularization of key rail services originating from Hissar, ensuring more predictable travel schedules for passengers. While the Hissar-Tirupati route has been upgraded to a permanent weekly express status, the Hissar-Khadki connection has received a temporary extension, providing much-needed relief to commuters traveling between Haryana and Maharashtra.
Key updates for passengers:
- Hissar-Tirupati Express (14723/14724) is now a permanent service.
- Train 14723 departs Hissar every Saturday at 2:10 PM.
- Train 14724 departs Tirupati every Monday at 2:10 PM.
- The Hissar-Khadki special is extended for additional trips on July 19 and July 20.
Transition to Permanent Express Status
Previously operating as a special service under the numbers 04717/04718, the Hissar-Tirupati link has now been integrated into the regular network as the 14723/14724 Hissar-Tirupati Express. This change is a significant move by the Ministry of Railways to accommodate the rising demand on this long-distance corridor. Passengers can now rely on a consistent weekly schedule, with the journey taking approximately 40 hours from departure to arrival. The train is scheduled to reach Tirupati on Monday nights at 11:10 PM, while the return leg arrives back in Hissar on Wednesday nights at 10:40 PM.
Extension of Hissar-Khadki Service
In addition to the permanent changes, North Western Railway has confirmed an extension for the Hissar-Khadki special train (formerly 04725/04726). According to Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer for North Western Railway, this extension includes one additional round trip to help clear passenger traffic. The train will run from Hissar on July 19 and return from Khadki on July 20.
This service remains vital for travelers connecting the northern regions to Pune and its suburbs. The train will continue to observe its existing route and designated halts, which include major commercial and transit hubs such as Jaipur, Kota, Vadodara, Surat, Kalyan, and Lonavala. Passengers are advised to check the official IRCTC website or the NTES app for real-time status updates and to book their tickets well in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
