The North Eastern Railway has officially announced the introduction of the 15095/15096 Gorakhpur-Delhi-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Express, a new weekly service designed to enhance connectivity for the Purvanchal region. This train replaces the previous 05057/05058 special service and represents a significant upgrade in travel infrastructure for the route.

  • Launch Date: Service commences from Gorakhpur on August 27, 2026, and from Delhi on August 28, 2026.
  • Train Composition: A 22-coach configuration featuring 11 general second-class and 8 sleeper-class coaches.
  • Capacity and Speed: Designed for over 1,800 passengers with a maximum operating speed of 130 kmph.
  • Service Type: A non-AC affordable travel option for low and lower-middle-income passengers.

Schedule and Route Details

According to North Eastern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar, the train is structured to provide efficient transit between these two major hubs. Train 15095 will depart from Gorakhpur every Thursday at 10:45 p.m., reaching Delhi the following day at 12:50 p.m. On the return leg, Train 15096 will depart Delhi every Friday at 2:00 p.m., arriving back in Gorakhpur at 6:30 a.m. the next morning.

The route has been carefully planned to serve key transit points, with scheduled halts at Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Burhwal, Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad. This connectivity is expected to provide much-needed relief to commuters traveling between Uttar Pradesh and the national capital.

Focus on Affordable Connectivity

The Amrit Bharat Express initiative is a core part of the railway’s strategy to provide high-speed, modern, yet affordable long-distance travel. By focusing on general and sleeper class coaches, the service ensures that the benefits of modernized rail infrastructure reach a wider demographic. With its high-speed capability of 130 kilometers per hour, the train promises a faster and more reliable journey for passengers who rely on non-AC transit options. Travelers are advised to keep an eye on the official IRCTC portal for booking updates as the launch date approaches.
