This marks the second time within six months that the gate has required repair work to ensure operational safety.
- Phase 1: August 24, 2026, 8:00 PM to August 25, 2026, 8:00 AM.
- Phase 2: August 25, 2026, 10:00 PM to August 26, 2026, 7:00 AM.
- Phase 3: August 26, 2026, 10:00 PM to August 27, 2026, 8:00 AM.
Traffic Diversion and Public Advisory
To ensure the safety of both railway operations and road users, the Senior Section Engineer (Rail Track) in Balod has coordinated the closure schedule with local authorities, including the Superintendent of Police in Balod. The railway administration emphasizes the importance of these repairs for maintaining track integrity and preventing potential infrastructure failures.
To minimize inconvenience, motorists are strongly advised to utilize alternative routes, specifically the Pararas underpass and the designated bypass road, during the specified closure hours. The railway authorities officially disseminated information regarding these traffic diversions to the public on August 17 and 18, 2026. Commuters traveling along the Balod-Rajnandgaon route are requested to plan their journeys in advance and follow the signage provided at the site to avoid delays. The cooperation of the public is essential for the railway teams to complete these safety-critical tasks efficiently and on schedule.
