Travelers in Jehanabad have received a significant boost in connectivity as Indian Railways introduces a third travel alternative for journeys connecting to Delhi and Ranchi. This addition is designed to ease the travel burden for passengers who frequently rely on these routes, providing much-needed flexibility for commuters who travel the distance in approximately 7 hours and 10 minutes with fares starting at ₹145. This new option complements the existing services, which include the RNC Jan Shatabdi (12365), the IPR Hatia Express (18623), and the PRNC HTE Express (18625).
Updated Refund and Booking Policies
Alongside the infrastructure improvements, passengers should note significant changes to railway operational policies implemented throughout 2026. As of March 2026, the refund policy has been tightened: no refunds are provided for tickets cancelled within eight hours of departure, while cancellations made between 8 and 24 hours now incur a 50% deduction. On a positive note, the flexibility for passengers has increased, as travelers may now modify their boarding station up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Onboard Decorum and New Penalty Rules
Indian Railways has also introduced stricter guidelines effective May 2026 to ensure a comfortable journey for all passengers. Travelers are reminded that the use of lower berths for sleeping is restricted to the hours of 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Furthermore, to maintain a peaceful environment, the use of earphones for audio devices is now mandatory after 10:00 PM.
To ensure compliance and passenger safety, enforcement measures have been strengthened as of July 2026. The department has implemented a minimum fine of ₹500 for traveling without a valid ticket. Additionally, those found causing a public nuisance or engaging in illegal begging will face a fine of ₹2,000. Similarly, strict action is being taken against those smoking aboard trains, with a penalty of ₹2,000 imposed for such violations. Passengers are encouraged to adhere to these rules to avoid inconvenience during their travels.
