Commuters and railway staff at Singhia Ghat station are enduring a difficult phase as the facility has been left without electricity for 21 consecutive days. This prolonged power failure has paralyzed essential station services and created a precarious environment for passengers navigating the premises after sunset. As of now, there is no clarity from the authorities regarding when the power supply will be restored.

Key updates regarding the situation at Singhia Ghat station:

  • The station has been operating without electricity for three full weeks.
  • Total darkness at the station is raising significant safety concerns for commuters during night hours.
  • Critical station infrastructure and passenger amenities remain non-functional due to the lack of power.
  • Railway authorities have yet to issue an official timeline for the restoration of electricity.

Impact on Station Operations and Passenger Safety

For the past 21 days, the absence of basic illumination at Singhia Ghat has made the station a challenging space for daily travelers. Beyond the lack of lighting, the power outage has crippled the station’s electrical infrastructure, which is vital for daily operations, including ticketing services, passenger information systems, and administrative tasks. The failure to address this issue over such an extended period has left both the staff and the local community frustrated.

While the station continues to handle train movements, the lack of operational electricity poses a major risk to passenger safety, particularly for those boarding or deboarding trains in the dark. Commuters are now forced to rely on their own mobile flashlights or station staff using emergency lights to navigate the platforms safely.

Lack of Communication from Authorities

Despite the severity of the situation, there has been a noticeable silence from railway officials regarding the cause of the outage or any concrete plans for repair. The continued neglect of this infrastructure gap is a growing concern for regular users of the station, who are demanding immediate intervention to restore basic services. As the situation enters its fourth week, passengers are calling for an urgent resolution to ensure the station is once again safe and fully operational for the public.
