Passengers travelling via Gaya Junction need to be alert as the Railway has started a major redevelopment project. A Mega Block of 45 days has begun on February 5, 2026, and will continue till March 21, 2026. This block is taken to upgrade the station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Due to this work, train movement on the Patna-Gaya rail section will see significant changes for the next six weeks.
Work on Platform 2 and 3 in progress

CPRO Saraswati Chandra stated that this work involves track maintenance, increasing platform height, and setting up new sheds. The project aims to bring world-class safety and passenger standards to the station with an investment of nearly Rs 300 crore. Trains that usually halt at these platforms are being shifted or regulated.
