Commuters traveling in South Delhi need to be careful while planning their route today. The traffic movement remains affected on the Mehrauli-Badarpur (MB) Road, specifically in the carriageways from Khanpur T-point towards Hamdard T-Point. The disruption is being reported in both directions, making it difficult for daily office goers and residents in the area.
Why is there heavy traffic on MB Road?
The primary reason for the slow traffic is the ongoing infrastructure work on this stretch. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is currently carrying out construction activities. Along with this, BSES has also undertaken cable laying work at the same location. These simultaneous projects have reduced the road width available for vehicles, causing bottlenecks during peak hours.
What does the traffic advisory say?
The authorities have advised commuters to avoid this specific stretch to prevent getting stuck in jams. It is better to plan the journey in advance and check for alternative routes connecting Khanpur and Hamdard T-Point. Drivers should drive patiently and follow the directions given by the traffic police personnel deployed on the ground to manage the flow.
