The Patna Metro has successfully completed a crucial trial run on its extended priority corridor. On February 26, 2026, officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) tested the track between Bhootnath and Malahi Pakri stations. This success paves the way for the opening of two additional stations immediately after the Holi festival.
When will the new stations open and what are the timings?
The authorities have set a target to open the new section during the first week of March 2026, right after Holi celebrations on March 4. The two new stations, Malahi Pakri and Khemnichak, will join the existing network. Metro services will operate daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Trains are expected to run with a frequency of about 20 minutes, helping passengers plan their travel conveniently.
What will be the ticket price for the full route?
With the opening of these stations, the total operational length of the Blue Line will reach roughly 6.6 km. The fare for short distances under 3 km remains at ₹15, while the fare for the full extended corridor is expected to be ₹30. The Khemnichak station is designed as a three-story interchange hub to connect different lines in the future. Facilities like parking at Malahi Pakri and automated ticket machines are also ready for public use.
