Indian Railways has announced a major plan to manage the heavy rush of passengers during the summer season. To make travel easier and reduce waiting lists, the Ministry of Railways will operate thousands of special train trips across the country. This move aims to provide more seats and ensure a smoother journey for people traveling to their hometowns or for vacations.

How many special trains are being operated?
The Ministry of Railways has planned a total of 18,262 special train trips to meet the peak summer demand. Out of these planned trips, 11,294 have already been officially notified for the passengers. These trains will run on various busy routes to clear the crowd from regular trains.
What is the purpose of these special trips?
The primary goal is to expand rail access during the summer months when travel demand spikes. By adding these extra trips, the railways intend to reduce the pressure on existing trains and provide a more comfortable travel experience for the common man. This initiative focuses on ensuring that passengers can find available berths and seats more easily during this peak period.
