Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off two new Amrit Bharat trains on April 28, 2026. These trains will connect Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, making travel easier for common passengers. The launch will take place virtually from the Bareka public meeting ground in Varanasi.
Banaras-Pune Amrit Bharat Express details
The train number 22589/22590 will run daily between Banaras and Hadapsar (Pune). It will stop at major stations including Prayagraj, Jhansi, Itarsi, and Bhusawal. This service will fulfill the long-standing demand for direct connectivity between these cities.

The second train will connect Ayodhya to Mumbai, which will be very helpful for pilgrims and long-distance travelers. Both these trains use Push-Pull technology for higher speeds and better acceleration. They are designed as non-AC trains with a higher number of sleeper and general second-class coaches to keep travel affordable.
