Indian Railways has introduced several discount offers to make travel more affordable for daily commuters, students, and business travelers. These initiatives aim to reduce crowds at ticket counters and encourage the use of digital payments for booking tickets.
How to get 3% discount on unreserved tickets?
Passengers can get a 3% discount on unreserved train tickets if they book through the RailOne app. This offer is valid until July 14, 2026. To avail of this benefit, payments must be made using digital modes such as UPI, debit cards, credit cards, or net banking.
What are the ticket concessions for students?
The railway provides various fare reductions for students based on their category and purpose of travel. These discounts are generally available at ticket counters rather than online booking portals.

What was the Round Trip Package scheme?
Railway launched a pilot Round Trip Package where passengers got a 20% discount on the base fare of the return journey. This was applicable if both onward and return tickets were booked together for the same passenger and were confirmed.
