Why was the UTS app closed and what is RailOne
The UTS app was an older system with limited services and was mainly used for unreserved, platform, and season tickets. To make things easier, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the RailOne Super App on July 1, 2025. This new app is faster, more secure, and user-friendly compared to the old one.
What features are available in RailOne Super App
The RailOne app combines multiple services that previously required different applications. It handles everything from ticket booking to food orders and complaints.
| Service | Details |
|---|---|
| Ticketing | Reserved (including Tatkal), Unreserved, Platform, and Season tickets |
| Train Info | Live Train Tracking, PNR Status, and Coach Position |
| Services | E-Catering food orders and Rail Madad grievance redressal |
| Payments | R-Wallet integration with 3% discount/cashback on unreserved tickets |
| Other Tools | Porter booking, taxi services, and AI-powered waitlist predictions |
Current usage and performance data
The app has seen a huge response since its launch. It has surpassed 31.6 million downloads on Android and 3.3 million on Apple devices. In February 2026, the app recorded over 5 lakh daily ticket bookings. The AI tool for waitlist confirmation has also improved its accuracy from 53% to 94%.
