Railway authorities have conducted surprise checks at various stations to catch people traveling without tickets. In Kanpur Central, 247 ticketless passengers were caught across 13 trains, and a fine of ₹1.36 lakh was collected. Similarly, at Bilaspur station, 303 passengers were found without tickets, resulting in fines exceeding ₹1.90 lakh. These drives will continue to maintain order and cleanliness at stations.

To manage the rush in reserved coaches, the railway has introduced a 25% limit on waiting list tickets. Now, only 25% of the total seats in a coach will be issued as waiting tickets. This change is meant to increase the chances of passengers getting confirmed tickets and stop unreserved passengers from entering reserved coaches. According to officials, booking charts will be issued 24 hours in advance to help passengers plan better.
