New Train Announcement: Indian Railways to run Katihar-Bhagalpur Special train from May 23
The Ministry of Railways has approved a special unreserved train between Katihar and Bhagalpur to help passengers during the summer vacation. This service will operate from May 23, 2026, to June 6, 2026, providing relief to students, traders, and daily commuters. The decision comes in response to heavy crowds and traffic issues on the Vikramshila Setu.

The railway has released the schedule for both directions of the special service. Train number 03407 will depart from Bhagalpur at 7:00 AM and reach Katihar by 1:00 PM. In the return journey, train number 03408 will leave Katihar at 2:10 PM and arrive in Bhagalpur at 8:20 PM.
