Which are the new Amrit Bharat routes?
The railway ministry announced two new services to be launched soon. One train will run between Varanasi (Banaras) and Hadapsar (Pune) under train number 22589/22590. The second train will operate between Ayodhya and Mumbai. Both of these new trains will feature non-AC coaches to keep travel costs low for common passengers.
What is Amrit Bharat Express 3.0?
To address passenger demands and the rising heat, Indian Railways is preparing Amrit Bharat Express 3.0. Unlike previous versions that were fully non-AC, the 3.0 version will have a mix of both AC and non-AC coaches. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the prototype coach on April 5, 2026. The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) plans to produce two such rakes by the end of the 2025-26 financial year.
