A project worth approximately 20 crore rupees will introduce a Route Relay System and yard modernization. The railway will relocate tracks, signals, and point systems while straightening the rail line of Platform 1. This change will remove track curves and allow trains to operate at speeds up to 100 km/h. Additionally, a modern drainage system for the yard complex is planned with a budget of 50 crore rupees to stop waterlogging.
How will passenger facilities improve?
The station will see several infrastructure changes to help passengers move easily. The Railway Safety Commissioner has approved the widening of Foot Over Bridge stairs on platforms 2 and 3 in two phases. Platforms 2, 3, 5, and 6 will be extended to accommodate longer trains.
