Indian Railways is set to introduce the Amrit Bharat train, a new service aimed at improving connectivity in Rajasthan. This train, expected to operate between Ajmer and Ranchi via Jaipur, promises multiple features tailored for enhanced passenger convenience and is part of an ongoing effort to expand and modernize train services in the region.

Introduction of Amrit Bharat Train

The first “Amrit Bharat Train” in Rajasthan is planned to start by the end of this year. Indian Railways officials are preparing to roll out Amrit Bharat on 26 routes nationwide in the first phase, with Rajasthan’s routes including Jodhpur to Gorakhpur and Ajmer to Ranchi (via Jaipur). Monitoring of routes and schedules is ongoing, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the service.

Key Features and Facilities of the Amrit Bharat Train

On the Ajmer-Ranchi (via Jaipur) route, the Amrit Bharat train will have a non-AC setup with 18 to 22 sleeper and general-class coaches using Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) technology. Each coach will offer a range of passenger-friendly amenities:

  • High-Speed Capability: The train will operate at a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
  • Enhanced Security and Communication: Equipped with CCTV cameras and a talk-back system that allows direct contact with the loco pilot and train manager.
  • Passenger Comfort: Vacuum bio-toilets and other facilities are available in each coach for improved hygiene.

 

Key Stops Along the Ajmer-Ranchi Route

This train will provide essential connectivity through major cities and towns across Rajasthan, ensuring access for various regions:

  1. Ajmer – The starting point, known for its cultural heritage and religious significance.
  2. Jaipur – A major urban hub and the capital of Rajasthan, offering vital connectivity for travelers within and outside the state.
  3. Kota – Known for its educational institutes, this stop will benefit students and residents seeking affordable travel.
  4. Bundi – A scenic city in Rajasthan, adding a cultural touch to the route.
  5. Shivpuri – A prominent stop in Madhya Pradesh, helping bridge northern and central India.
  6. Bhopal – The capital city of Madhya Pradesh, providing important links for inter-state commuters.
  7. Ranchi – The final destination, serving as a key business and tourism hub in Jharkhand.

 

These stops not only add connectivity but also cater to the needs of local passengers and tourists alike, enhancing travel options across regions.
