Western Railway’s Bhavnagar Division has announced that several long-distance trains will follow diverted routes in May 2026. This decision comes due to technical non-interlocking work planned at the Kanakpura Yard under the Jaipur Division of North Western Railway. The infrastructure project focuses on yard remodeling and extending rail lines to enhance train movement capacity and yard efficiency.
Train Diversion Schedule for May 2026
The technical work will specifically affect train operations on May 8, 9, and 11, 2026. These trains will skip major commercial halts such as Jaipur, Alwar, and Bandikui to accommodate the track connectivity work in the Jaipur-Phulera section. Passengers should plan their travel keeping the following diverted schedule in mind:
- Train 19269 (Porbandar–Muzaffarpur Express): Diverted via Phulera-Ringas-Narnaul-Rewari on May 8, skipping Jaipur, Alwar, and Bandikui.
- Train 20937 (Porbandar–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express): Diverted via Phulera-Ringas-Narnaul-Rewari on May 9, skipping Alwar and Khairthal.
- Train 19270 (Muzaffarpur–Porbandar Express): Diverted via Rewari-Narnaul-Ringas-Phulera on May 11, skipping Alwar, Bandikui, and Jaipur.
Infrastructure Goals and Passenger Assistance
According to North Western Railway CPRO Captain Shashi Kiran, the extension of two rail lines by 100 meters at Kanakpura Yard is essential for long-term safety and punctuality. While this causes temporary route changes, it will eventually ease congestion on the busy Jaipur corridor. Atul Kumar Tripathi, Sr. DCM of Bhavnagar Division, stated that passengers are being informed via SMS alerts about the skipped stations. Travelers are encouraged to use the National Train Enquiry System to check the live status of their trains before heading to the station.
