The Railway Ministry has officially approved a new stoppage for the Surat-Thawe Tapti Ganga Express (19045/19046) at Dighwa Dubauli railway station in Bihar’s Gopalganj district. This decision brings a major relief to thousands of people traveling between Gujarat and Bihar for work. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw granted the approval on March 10, 2026, and the railway administration has already started updating the local timetable and ticket booking software.
What are the Train Timings and Schedule?
The train will halt for exactly two minutes at the Dighwa Dubauli station. Passengers can now book tickets for Sleeper (SL), Third AC (3A), and Second AC (2A) classes directly from this local station. Standard railway fare rules based on distance will apply for all ticket bookings.
- Train 19045 (Surat/Udhna to Thawe): Operates five days a week on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Train 19046 (Thawe to Surat/Udhna): Operates five days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
How Will This Benefit the Public?
Thousands of residents from Gopalganj and the Baikunthpur area are connected to the textile industry and various other businesses in Surat. Previously, these passengers had to travel all the way to Thawe or Chhapra just to catch a direct train to Gujarat. This caused extra expenses and longer travel times for families and workers.
The demand for this specific halt was pushed by Baikunthpur MLA Mithilesh Tiwari, who wrote a letter to the Railway Minister back in December 2025. Now that the North Eastern Railway zone is implementing the stop, passengers will save money and effort by boarding directly from Dighwa Dubauli.
