Introduction to Vande Bharat and Passenger Enthusiasm
Passengers across India have shown immense excitement for the Vande Bharat train, the country’s most popular rail service. Many travelers express a desire for the Vande Bharat train to pass through their cities, making it easier for them to experience this modern train service. In response to this enthusiasm, Indian Railways has been operating Vande Bharat Express on various routes and has now announced plans to introduce Vande Bharat sleeper coaches on a new and significant route.
Completion of the USBRL Project
A historic milestone has been achieved with the completion of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project in Jammu and Kashmir. This project, which connects the Kashmir Valley to the rest of India by rail, was initiated in 1994-95 and spans 383 kilometers. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently announced its completion, highlighting the successful work on the ballast-less track in the T-33 tunnel near Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. This development marks a significant step in overcoming the infrastructural challenges that previously delayed the project.
