Northern Railway has announced a temporary traffic block between Delhi and Shahdara stations for essential infrastructure upgrades. This work includes yard remodeling and non-interlocking activities aimed at improving rail safety and operational efficiency. As a result, several major trains including the Netaji Express will not stop at Old Delhi station on selected dates in March 2026.
Affected Trains and Skip Schedule
The following trains will skip their scheduled halt at Old Delhi station due to the ongoing technical work in the Delhi Division:
| Train Number | Train Name | Skip Date |
|---|---|---|
| 12312 | Kalka-Howrah Netaji Express | 17 March 2026 |
| 18310 | Jammu Tawi-Sambalpur Express | 18 March 2026 |
| 03311 | Dhanbad-Chandigarh Special | 28 March 2026 |
Diverted Route and Travel Advisory
During the block period, these trains will be diverted through an alternative route via Sahibabad, Tilak Bridge, New Delhi, and Adarsh Nagar Delhi. Northern Railway officials have issued an advisory for passengers to confirm their boarding and de-boarding stations via the National Train Enquiry System or IRCTC. This change is temporary and intended to complete the technical work on time while reducing congestion at the main station.
