Introduction of Modern Trains

The recent budget highlights a significant focus on modernizing the railway infrastructure, with plans to introduce new trains such as the Vande Bharat Sleeper, Vande Metro, and Bullet Train. This initiative aims to facilitate the operation of Vande Bharat trains specifically on the Tatanagar to Varanasi and Bilaspur routes. Additionally, the budget underscores the importance of enhancing safety measures on the Howrah-Mumbai rail corridor through the implementation of an automatic train protection (ATP) system called Kavach, designed to avert railway accidents.

Infrastructure Development and Safety Enhancements

To bolster safety and efficiency, the budget allocates funds for extensive infrastructure improvements, including the installation of advanced equipment and the construction of new railway lines. An automatic signal system will be established from Tata to Kharagpur, which aims to streamline train operations. Furthermore, plans are underway to modify train operations within the Chakradharpur division, with additional funding designated for the construction of a fourth line. This is part of a broader strategy to enhance passenger facilities and security systems in the region.

Regional Investments and Future Projects

The budget is set to provide over 5000 crores for development projects in the Chakradharpur and Ranchi divisions of Jharkhand. Key initiatives include the doubling of existing tracks, such as the Kandra-Nakum railroad and the Ilu-Silli Line, as well as the Tata-Badampahar rail route. Moreover, there are plans for the installation of an armor system across all tracks to further prevent accidents. While the budget has made provisions for both new and ongoing railway schemes, railway officials are currently unable to provide detailed clarifications until the official documentation is released.
