Introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train in Jharkhand
Jharkhand is set to enhance its rail travel infrastructure with the introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, as confirmed by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. The completion of this project is anticipated soon, promising a new and convenient travel experience for passengers in the state. During a video conference held at the Ranchi Railway Division Office, the Minister emphasized the state-of-the-art facilities of the Vande Bharat trains, which are designed to ensure a comfortable journey for all travelers.
Expansion Plans for Vande Bharat Services
In the coming year, the Indian Railways plans to roll out an extensive network of trains, including 200 Vande Bharat trains, 100 Amrit Bharat trains, and 50 Namo Bharat trains. Both AC and sleeper services will be available, offering various options for passengers. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is engineered for high-speed travel, capable of reaching speeds up to 180 km/h, and includes features such as comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, power outlets, and food and beverage services, ensuring a modern travel experience with digital amenities like automated doors and digital screens.
Current Operations and Passenger Requests
Currently, three Vande Bharat Express trains operate from Ranchi, connecting it to Patna, Howrah, and Varanasi. Additionally, 12 Vande Bharat Express trains transit through Jharkhand, serving 22 stations and covering 14 districts, thereby linking various regions of the state. There is a growing demand from passengers for a Vande Bharat train service between Ranchi and Puri. Although no decision has been made yet on this request, Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth has raised the issue with the Railway Minister, highlighting the need for this additional service.
