What’s inside:

RJD in Bihar faces internal turmoil after a decisive defeat in the elections.

In Bihar, after facing a clear defeat in the elections, the RJD is now showing signs of taking strict action in a surgical strike mode on its organizational weaknesses and internal conflicts. The party is preparing to take tough action against rebel leaders and workers. Several leaders are facing action based on the directions of party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and leader of the opposition Tejashwi Yadav.

During review meetings, the state president Mangan Lal Mandal has received written complaints from several districts about dissenting factions within the party. The party members are demanding a change in the functioning and more openness from Tejashwi Yadav towards the party workers.

The issue of economic resources was also raised strongly during the meeting. Workers questioned how poor candidates can contest elections and whether the party can fund honest but financially weak candidates for elections.

The weaknesses of the organization in Patna were openly discussed as well. Leaders mentioned that serious efforts were not made to strengthen the organization in the capital, which reflected in the election results. Additionally, caste violence and aggressive slogans were cited as significant reasons for the defeat.

Some leaders also raised concerns about outsiders and people connected to Haryana being active in the party, affecting the morale of local workers. It is believed that the RJD may now move towards significant organizational changes and disciplinary actions at a higher level.

Summary:

  • RJD in Bihar facing internal conflicts after election loss

  • Party preparing to take strict action against dissenting factions

  • Economic resources and organization weaknesses highlighted in discussions

  • Issues of caste violence and outside influence raised as concerns

  • Potential for significant organizational changes in the party
