Special Train Services for Coldplay Concert

Western Railways is introducing two special trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad on January 25 (Saturday) and 26 (Sunday) to accommodate the influx of attendees for the Coldplay concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. With flight fares skyrocketing due to the concert, these trains are aimed at providing relief to passengers traveling between the two cities. The decision was made in response to the anticipated high demand for transportation during this event.

Train Schedule and Details

According to officials, both special trains will operate under the guidance of the Railway Board. They will depart from Bandra Terminus at 6:15 am, arriving in Ahmedabad at 2:00 pm on January 25 and 1:00 pm on January 26. The return journey will see the trains leaving Ahmedabad at 1:40 am, reaching Bandra Terminus at 8:40 am, while the second train will depart at 12:50 am on January 27. Tickets for these special trains can be booked through Book My Show.

Stations of Service and Increased Airfare

The special trains will make stops at several key stations, including Borivali, Vapi, Udhana, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, and Geratpur. Additionally, officials have noted a significant rise in flight fares between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, attributed to the Coldplay concert. They expressed concerns that the demand might exceed the capacity of the two special trains, drawing parallels to previous experiences during high-profile events like the Cricket World Cup. Furthermore, for the Coldplay concerts scheduled for January 18, 19, and 21 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the Railways has arranged suburban local trains to facilitate travel between Goregaon and Nerul stations exclusively for concert attendees.
