The Ajni–Pune Vande Bharat Express has made a great start since it began running on August 11. Many people were unsure if a long train journey would attract passengers, but it has proven to be very popular.
This train, numbered 26101, has carried over 13,000 passengers in just 19 trips, earning around 18.42 crore rupees. The other train, 26102, from Pune to Ajni, did similarly well, bringing in 17.77 crore by carrying more than 13,000 passengers in 18 trips.
In total, both trains brought in about 36 crore rupees and transported around 26,422 passengers during their first month. The response for travel during the upcoming Diwali festival is also very encouraging.
The Vande Bharat train has eight coaches, including one Executive Class and seven Chair Cars, and can accommodate 530 passengers. Chair Car tickets cost 2,140 rupees, while Executive Class tickets are priced at 3,815 rupees. The train runs six days a week from Nagpur.
Due to its success, there is now a call for a sleeper version of this train. The decision about adding more services will be made by the Railway Board.
