What’s inside:

The central government has approved the doubling of the railway line connecting Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, enhancing train services.

The central government has given the green light for the doubling of the railway line that connects Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. This line runs from Bhagalpur to Dumka and Rampurhat, covering a distance of 177 kilometers.

This project will cost around 3,169 crores. The approval has brought joy to the local residents. Currently, the single line often causes delays for trains like Vande Bharat, which sometimes have to wait at stations for long periods.

Once the line is doubled, train travel on this busy route will become smoother and safer. This will greatly improve connectivity to important religious sites like Baba Baidyanath Dham and Tarapeeth Shakti Peeth, benefiting many pilgrims and tourists.

The doubling of the line will also enhance transportation of goods like coal, cement, and fertilizers. Right now, about a dozen freight trains operate daily on this single line, but the new infrastructure will allow for more efficient movement of goods.

In the future, the doubling of the railway line will make train operations much more efficient, saving time for passengers and making freight transport easier. This is an important step towards better connectivity in the region.

Summary:

  • The railway line from Bhagalpur to Dumka and Rampurhat is being doubled.

  • This project will cost approximately 3,169 crores.

  • It will improve train services and safety on a busy route.

  • Freight transport will be more efficient with the new infrastructure.

  • Local residents and pilgrims will benefit greatly from this development.
