What’s inside:

This article discusses how women in Dehradun stopped the Vande Bharat train to protest a water supply issue.

Recently, a group of women from Dehradun stopped the Vande Bharat train that was heading to Lucknow. This incident happened at Dehradun station, specifically on platform number one, around 1:30 PM. The women were protesting due to their ongoing water crisis.

The protest was sparked because the Deepnagar Railway Colony, where about 70 families live, has been facing severe water supply issues. Their water supply got cut off on October 8th, after a motor broke down. Although they were getting water from tankers, it was not sufficient for their needs.

Railway officials quickly arrived at the scene to address the situation. They assured the women that the water supply would be restored by Thursday. Additionally, they promised to send three daily water tankers until the regular supply is back in place.

As a result of these assurances, the women decided to end their protest and allowed the train to depart. This incident highlights the challenges faced by residents in areas with inadequate water supply and the importance of prompt action from authorities.

Moving forward, the railway officials are expected to keep their promise and restore the water supply by the mentioned date. This should help alleviate the concerns of the families affected by the water crisis in Deepnagar Railway Colony.

Summary:

  • Women in Dehradun protested by stopping a train.

  • The protest was about a water supply issue in their colony.

  • Water supply was cut off on October 8th due to a motor failure.

  • Railway officials promised to restore water by Thursday.

  • Protest ended after officials assured them of daily water supply.
