This article talks about the new stoppages for express trains at smaller railway stations in East Singhbhum, making travel easier for rural passengers.
Good news for travelers in East Singhbhum! Express trains will now stop at smaller railway stations like Ghatsila, Galudih, and Rakhamines. This decision was brought up by local MP Vidyut Varun Mahato during a meeting of the South Eastern Railway Advisory Committee.
The MP requested that ten express trains make stops at these stations to help local travelers. The railway officials responded positively and assured that they would forward this request to the Railway Board for approval.
This change means that passengers from rural areas won’t have to go all the way to Tatanagar to catch trains to cities like Pune, Mumbai, Rourkela, Puri, Howrah, and Haridwar. This will save them both time and effort.
The trains that are expected to stop include the Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express at Ghatsila and the Puri-Rishikesh Utkal Express at Rakhamines. Other trains like the Howrah-Mumbai Gitanjali Express and the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will also stop at Ghatsila.
The proposal for these stoppages has been sent to the Railway Board and will be reviewed for the upcoming months in February, July, and October of 2025. This is part of an ongoing effort to enhance train services in the area.
