The bank officer, Roopshree, realized she left the bag behind only after the train had started. She quickly informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) about her lost belongings. They immediately started investigating the matter.

While reviewing the CCTV footage from the station, the officials noticed four individuals taking the bag from a seat. The footage was shown to locals in Konkanar, but no one could identify the men. Eventually, RPF managed to get a phone number from the footage and contacted the laborers.

The laborers mentioned they were searching for the bag’s owner too. They had already asked around and even approached the police. Finally, they handed over the bag filled with gold jewelry to the police, which made Roopshree very happy.

In recognition of their honesty, the police appreciated the laborers and awarded each of them with a cash prize. One of the laborers, Mohammad Ismail, mentioned they live in a rented room in a slum but are committed to working hard and earning their living.
