Indian Railways to Commemorate Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Day with Special Events Across Stations Nationwide

Indian Railways is planning a special event to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. This event aims to remember the teachings and sacrifices made by this revered Sikh Guru.

During a meeting in New Delhi, the Union Minister of State for Railways expressed gratitude for the suggestions from Sikh leaders on how to celebrate this significant occasion. This collaboration is a historic step to honor Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who is known for his sacrifice in the name of religious freedom.


For the public, there will be several changes, including displaying Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Shlokas at railway stations and on trains. Special trains will run during the commemorative period, and Punjabi signboards will be put up at key stations in Haryana, Patna, and Hazur Sahib.

Other proposals include better hygiene on trains, community meals (Langar) provided on board, and improved facilities on pilgrimage trains. Suggestions like renaming Delhi Railway Station to Guru Tegh Bahadur Railway Station are also under consideration.


Indian Railways is committed to considering all recommendations made during the meeting. This includes ensuring that the commemorative events are successful and meaningful for everyone involved.
