Indian Railways Transports Over 1.6 Crore Passengers from Diwali to Chhath, Expected to Exceed 2.5 Crore by Season’s End

Indian Railways has successfully transported over 1.6 crore passengers during the festive season from Diwali to Chhath, with numbers expected to rise further.



This year, Indian Railways has seen a huge number of passengers traveling during the festive season from Diwali to Chhath. So far, more than 1.6 crore people have used the trains, and this number is likely to exceed 2.5 crore by the end of the celebrations.

To manage the heavy rush, special arrangements were made at 30 major railway stations in Bihar and nearby Uttar Pradesh. These stations were equipped with large waiting areas for passengers returning home after the festivities.


Additional ticket counters and CCTV cameras were set up to ensure safety and order. Railway staff worked hard to help travelers reach their destinations comfortably during this busy time.

At busy locations like Patna Junction, special holding areas were created for passengers. Continuous CCTV monitoring helped keep everything secure. Many travelers appreciated the cleanliness and prompt services at the stations and trains.


Special trains, including a new Vande Bharat Express between New Delhi and Patna, were introduced to ease the travel burden. The Railways also played traditional Chhath songs on trains, adding to the festive spirit as people traveled home.
