Jammu Rail Division has successfully completed its first e-auction for advertising rights on Vande Bharat trains, aiming to boost non-fare revenue.
Jammu Rail Division is taking steps to increase its non-fare revenue. Recently, they completed their first e-auction for advertising rights on the sliding doors between the coaches of all Vande Bharat trains.
This e-auction took place last Thursday. Earlier, in September, they had allocated advertising rights for LED screens in these trains for five years, expected to generate around 1.3 crore rupees for the railways.
With this new auction, the advertising rights for the interior sliding doors will be valid for three years. This move will not only increase revenue for the Jammu division but also make journeys more attractive for passengers while offering a platform for local and national brands to promote themselves.
The e-auction will bring in approximately 44.17 lakh rupees over three years. Specifically, train number 26401/26402 is expected to earn around 12.74 lakh, while train number 26403/26404 will generate about 13.73 lakh. Train number 22478/22477 is anticipated to bring in about 17.70 lakh.
The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager stated that this initiative shows how Indian Railways is exploring new ways to generate revenue. Vande Bharat trains, being premium services, provide an effective platform for advertisers, enhancing the travel experience for passengers.
