New Pitline for Vande Bharat Trains in Bhagalpur Nears Completion, Operations Halted Until September 28

A new maintenance line for Vande Bharat trains in Bhagalpur is almost ready. The railway department has stopped train operations until September 28 to complete the work on this line.

Previously, the maintenance of these trains depended on facilities at Jamalpur and Malda. Now, once the new line is tested and approved, Bhagalpur will have its own maintenance facility.


This new line is expected to improve the service for passengers traveling on Vande Bharat trains. After the completion and testing, the railway plans to start operating these trains from Bhagalpur to Delhi.

The project is under the supervision of the Workshop Project Organization, with a budget of ₹32 crores. The initial setup faced some issues, but adjustments are being made to ensure it meets the requirements for Vande Bharat trains.


Railway officials have confirmed that the necessary improvements will be done by September 28. Once everything is in place, Bhagalpur will be ready to host Vande Bharat train services.
