A recent incident occurred on the Vande Bharat Express at around 10:30 PM. The train, which travels from Gaya to Howrah, reached Howrah station but passengers found themselves unable to exit. Passengers started to panic and pressed the emergency button, but there was no response. They also asked the pantry staff for help, who could not assist them either. To make matters worse, the lights and air conditioning in the coach turned off, causing fear among the passengers, especially children and women.

After a significant delay, the PA system finally announced that the doors would be opened manually. Following this announcement, the doors were eventually opened, allowing the passengers to exit. One of the passengers raised concerns about the railway’s emergency procedures.

Many passengers noted that the atmosphere inside the train felt like a regular passenger train, with some people loudly watching videos on their phones. The pantry staff had left the doors of the AC coaches open, making it uncomfortable. The helpline numbers provided were constantly busy throughout the journey, leaving passengers with no assistance.

  • Passengers were stuck inside the Vande Bharat Express for an extended period.

  • Emergency protocols were not followed, leading to chaos.

  • The PA system finally informed passengers that doors would be opened manually.

  • Concerns were raised regarding staff training for emergencies.

  • Helpline numbers were busy, leaving passengers without assistance.
