Rail Worker Killed by Train Near Mathura Station, Family Protests and Blocks Tracks

A railway employee tragically died after being hit by a train, leading to protests and disruptions on the tracks.



On Wednesday morning, a railway worker lost his life when he was hit by the Sachkhand Express near the railway station in Mathura. The incident happened around 10:30 AM, and family members of the deceased rushed to the scene, causing a blockage on the railway tracks.

In response to the accident, railway officials stopped the Mangala Express for about an hour and rerouted the Kerala Express and Vande Bharat on another line. The family of the deceased accused the railway staff of negligence, claiming someone pushed him onto the tracks.


The victim, identified as Ajay, had been working as a trackman since 2016. He was on duty with his colleagues near the railway station when the train suddenly approached from Agra towards Delhi.

Ajay died instantly from the impact. His colleagues informed the authorities, and when his family arrived, they were understandably upset and blocked the tracks. The Mangala Express was halted at 10:43 AM due to the crowd.


After the situation was managed, the body was removed, allowing the Mangala Express to depart at 12:14 PM, though it ran late by one hour and thirty-one minutes. Railway officials also promised a thorough investigation into the incident.
