What’s inside:

Passengers are facing difficulties in booking trains and buses during the festive season, leading to increased travel costs and crowding at stations.

This festive season, many people are struggling to book train tickets or find seats on buses. With the rush of travelers, trains are crowded, and some are opting for private vehicles to reach their destinations.

For instance, a man named Sudhir Kumar had to spend 24,000 rupees to rent a vehicle as he could not get a confirmed seat on the Maurya Express to Gorakhpur. He mentioned that they travel every year for the festival but this time had no choice but to book a car.

Another traveler, Amar Kumar, planned to take a bus to Ara but found no seats available. He had to pay an extra hundred rupees for a ticket on the next day’s bus, and still didn’t get his preferred seat. Between October 23 and 27, there are no seats available on many trains.

In response to the heavy crowd, the railway has implemented several measures. They are watching traveler numbers closely, and Rachi station has seen an increase in passengers compared to last year, with around 58,000 people passing through.

To manage the crowds better, temporary holding areas have been set up at major stations. The railway has also established rooms to quickly address passenger complaints and is running special trains during the festive season to accommodate more travelers.

Summary:

  • Passengers are facing difficulties with train and bus bookings.

  • High travel costs are forcing some to hire private vehicles.

  • Many trains have no availability from October 23 to 27.

  • Railways are monitoring crowds and have increased passenger facilities.

  • Special trains are running to help manage the festive rush.
